Central Regional Crime Officer Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Samuel Otumi has cautioned Ghanaians against fraudsters, who have invaded the country’s cities during the Christmas season.
He said that some of the cheats were luring unsuspecting victims into fake diamond trade and robbing them of huge sums of money.
ASP Otumi told the GNA in Cape Coast that police patrol teams were working day and night to check crime, and unusual barriers had been mounted in Cape Coast and its environs.
He said appealed to the public to give the police tip off to help ensure law and order.
The Assistant Regional Commander of the Motor Transport and Traffic Unit (MTTU) of the Ghana police service, Chief Inspector Samuel Obeng Addo, warned drivers to drive carefully and respect traffic regulations.
He said the Road Safety Commission and the MTTU were collaborating to reduce road accidents in the Region.
