A six-member board of the CSIR-College of Science and Technology Alumni Association (CCSTAA) has been inaugurated to support former graduates.
The Director of CSIR- Crops Research Institute, Prof. Moses Brandford Mochiah believes the alumni can change the fortune of the college.
He was speaking at an inauguration ceremony in Kumasi.
"Our college is establishing a tradition to stay in touch with its stakeholders, that is why we are inaugurating this association. One of the main purposes of the alumni association is to support the network of former graduates
"We believe the alumni can make a difference by changing the fortune of this college," he noted.
The executives are mandated to offer expert guidance and topic experts to students. This is to promote student- alumni engagement.
Prof. Mochiah is also Director's Representative on CCST Board.
"We want you to be project-based learners, by offering expert guidance and resources for project based learning, and serving as topic experts, practitioners and internship providers,” he said
The CSIR College of Science and Technology, CCST is an institution birthed out of the research and development experience of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research.
CSIR College of Science and Technology (CCST) seeks to expand the platform for Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) capacity and entrepreneurship at the post graduate level.
It also seeks to improve research industry linkage and collaboration.
Charles Yaw Brefo-Nimo is President, Louisa Abena Ebbah- Vice President and Kwaku Osei Adu Agyeman is General Secretary.
The rest are Eunice Okyere Agyapong, Organizer, Alexander Owusu Ansah is Treasurer and Agnes Achiaa Aboagye is Communication Officer.
