The Paramount chief of the New Juabeng Traditional Area has called for calm among the chiefs and people of the area.
Daasebre Oti Boateng came under heavy criticism from some sub-chiefs who accused him of being autocratic.
The sub-chiefs led a group of disgruntled residents who embarked on a demonstration against the paramount chief.
The demonstrators accused Daasebre Oti Boateng of doing very little to ameliorate the suffering of his subjects.
They also accused the chief of being autocratic.
Addressing the chiefs and people of the area during the Akwasidae festival over the week-end, Daasebre Oti Boateng said a committee has been put in place to investigate the accusations leveled against him.
In a report filed by Adom FM’s Maxwell Kudowor, the paramount chief questioned the propriety by some of the sub chiefs who have sworn the oath of allegiance to join a demonstration against him.
The Traditional Council is therefore seeking formal explanation from the aggrieved chiefs.
But one of the chiefs who led the demonstration is also questioning the integrity of the committee instituted by the paramount chief.
Nana Yaw Annoh Boateng told Joy News, Daasebre Oti Boateng cannot handpick people and form a committee to rule on a matter in which he has been accused.
He said the paramount chief must respond to the 19 point allegations made against him.
He said the paramount chief must change his ways or voluntarily step down as chief.
