Dr. Arthur Kobina Kennedy, an unsuccessful presidential aspirant of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), who was later made the Communications Director of the campaign team of the 2008 Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo Addo, may be cursing his stars at his US base for writing what top editors have described as a “politically pre-mature” book.
Latest in the series of scurrilous attacks is the one from the National Treasurer of the party, Daavi Ama, who said the publication is “treacherous and cheap way of gaining popularity amongst Ghanaians. I think he should be ignored”.
She argued that if Dr. Kennedy really meant well for the party he was the Communications Director of the campaign team and therefore had access to the flagbearer as and when he pleased, yet did not talk to him and rather chose to vilify the party with his book.
She told the New Crusading Guide in an exclusive interview Monday that “you know he spent a lot of money and lost abysmally at the NPP delegates congress so perhaps he’s looking for a way to make commercial out of it either than that his motives are mischievous because, he got a lot of the things he wrote in the book wrong and if we are to go into the book page by page, he would piss in his pants”.
Daavi Ama asked anybody who has had the opportunity of reading the book to carefully look at the NDC-coloured smock he was wearing to make their own informed judgments, saying “if you happened to get a copy of the book take a good look at the colours of his smock, make your own judgments but for me by their fruits ye shall know them”.
“Nana Addo’s 2008 Campaign team was good and I think he learnt from Kufuor, who also brought Kwesi Nduom into the NPP government’s fold but with Arthur Kennedy, I think he made the wrong choice, how can you bring a Doctor, whom we call “Wanzam” to come and write non-truths about the party?” The NPP influence peddler stated.
Daavi Ama, however, contended that the NPP was not hurt in anyway by Dr. Arthur Kennedy’s book and that there was nothing in the book which Ghanaians have not heard about the NPP before.
She said, “in fact, Arthur Kennedy is behaving like a spoilt child who wants to gain popularity with the mother”.
Daavi Ama described the failed NPP Presidential Aspirant as “Eno Esi He Vudo” to wit “he has cut his nose to spite his face”, and called on all NPP members to ignore the book and treat it with the contempt it deserved.
The NPP guru therefore advised all NPP sympathizers and supporters to remain resolute behind the party, saying that losing an election was not the end but 2012 was just around the corner.
