Mr. Dan Kwaku Botwe, a former General Secretary of the NPP has said the NPP under his leadership will ensure accelerated growth.Speaking to the Daily Graphic, Mr. Botwe who once served as Minister of Information in the Kufuor administration commended the Kufuor government and said he would emulate the sterling performance and achievements of the government. He also commended the foot soldiers of the party who have suffered various atrocities in their efforts to bring the party into power. He argued that even though the NPP came into power to meet empty coffers and a suffocating economy it had been able to put the economy back on track. He said many NPP sympathizers suffered attacks prior to the 2000 elections, as a result of which a lady lost her limb just a week to her wedding day.He recounted how NPP members used their hard earned money to buy T-shirts when the NDC was giving out free T-shirts to its members.Mr. Botwe believes that after President Kufuor’s efforts at laying down the foundation for a sound economy, it would be his turn as a visionary and committed leader to take over and lead the country to development.Source: Daily Graphic
