Pharmaceutical giant, DANNEX has taken controlling interest in Starwin Ghana Limited.
This was after DANNEX increased its shareholding in Starwin to 71 percent during the recent right issues carried out by the company.
Starwin was able to raise some 5 million Ghana Cedis out of the 10 million target.
Managing Director of DANNEX, Yaw Asamoah tells Joy Business, although his firm now has majority shares, which technically means a take-over, they will consider the possibility of a merger.
“As we speak we have acquired majority interest in Starwin Ghana Limited and that acquiring 30% you would have to announce your intention of either a takeover or a merger and we’re looking at the possibility of having a merger going forward because we believe that they are good people, they have a strong board, they have good brands.
“We will integrate with the products that exist in DANNEX to ensure that we have more products and we are able to be more competitive in the way that we deliver products to our customers.”
