The Director-General of the Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service, David Prah, has formally resigned from his position, effective Monday, January 27, 2025.
In his resignation letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, Mr Prah cited his intention to pursue other career obligations and personal goals as the reason for stepping down.
"I write to formally inform you of my resignation as Director-General of the Ghana TVET Service effective today, Monday 27th January 2025. Mr President, please, this resignation has become necessary to enable me to pursue other career obligations and personal goals," portions of the resignation letter noted.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve, Mr Prah highlighted the strides made in advancing TVET education in Ghana over the past few years.
“I am very proud of the work done in pursuit of the TVET transformational agenda. I strongly believe that TVET holds the key in turning the economic fortunes of the teeming youth of this country," he stated.
He assured that he would work to ensure a seamless transition to the next Director-General of the Ghana TVET Service.
He also extended his appreciation to former President Nana Akufo-Addo, former Minister of Education Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the staff of Ghana TVET Service, and the Ministry of Education for their support during his tenure.
Again, Mr Prah wished President John Dramani Mahama, his Cabinet, and the newly appointed Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, success in their roles.
