The Atwima-Nwabiagya District Chief Executive, Mr Thomas Ofori-Donkor, has warned that development levy defaulters in the district would no longer be tolerated.
He gave the warning at an Easter fund-raising harvest organized by the chiefs and people of Atwima-Mim in aid of a block of three classrooms.
Mr Ofori-Donkor noted with concern the spate of rate defaulting in some communities in the district and said this was hampering effective execution of development projects.
He said the district assembly had complemented the efforts of the town by donating 300 bags of cement towards the project and commended Nana Wiredu, the chief, for donating 25 trips of sand to mould blocks for the project.
The DCE also addressed a similar fund-raising harvest at Kumi near Barekese in aid of an electrification project and also commended the Nwabiagya Rural Bank for supporting the project with ¢10 million.
