Derek Boateng has told KickOffGhana.com he is interested in joining Getafe in the Spanish La Liga after the Madrid side expressed interest in him.Officials of Getafe and FC Cologne, his present club are due to meet on Thursday to thrash out the fine details of the proposed deal and Boateng is keen for it to be sorted out.“The option of playing in Spain is attractive for me,” he told KickOffGhana.com. “The two clubs are handling it at their level but I will very much want to play in Spain.”Boateng joined Cologne from Beitar Jerusalem in Israel in January but admits he has struggled to cope due to the tough physical conditions of the Bundesliga. He feels Spain will do just fine for his style of football.“In Spain players can express themselves more on the ball a lot more and anyone who knows me will know that will suit me fine. It is a also League with a big profile which means if I play on a regular basis there it will be easy to catch the eye of the national team bosses in Ghana.”If the Getafe deal goes through, it will mark another country in the nomadic career of the 26-year old who has already played in Greece, Sweden and Israel.Source: Kickoff.com
