Tanzania’s Bongo singer and songwriter, Nasibu Abdul Juma, popularly known as Diamond Platinuz will be honoured with an Honorary degree by the University of Dar es Salaam over the weekend.
According to Vibe Weekly, the Tanzanian university will bestow the honour on the artiste on Saturday, November 8, 2014 for his role in exporting Tanzanian’s art and culture globally.
As part of the honour, it would not be abnormal to refer to the Number One singer as Dr.Nasseb Abdul from the day of the award.
Diamond, an award winning singer, is one of the most successful recording artistes in East Africa after he achieved prominence in 2009.
He is best known for his hit song, ‘Number One.’
