Madam Akua Donkor, leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) is set to be outdoored on Wednesday as a member of the campaign team of the Progressive Peoples Party.
This follows her disqualification by the Electoral Commission due to what she believes are underhand dealings by some officials at the Commission.
Sources close to both PPP flagbearer Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom and Madam Akua Donkor say the GFP leader will be outdoored at a press conference Thursday morning at the national headquarters of the PPP at Asylum Down, Accra.
She is set to receive a brand new Toyota Tundra and a driver to wage a vigorous campaign in Ashanti region in particular and northern Ghana in general.
In an interview with Adomonline.com, Madam Donkor said she was supporting Dr Nduom because her visions and plans for Ghana are the same as that of the flagbearer of the PPP, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, hence her decision to join his party.
She added that all indications prove that Dr. Nduom was the most qualified person to handle the affairs of the nation, especially in the areas of corruption and strong leadership.
Madam Akua Donkor who set the political landscape alight with a slew of promises, most notably a pledge to provide free cars and fuel to journalists if elected President, said she had accepted her disqualification by the EC and is looking forward to ensuring that Dr. Nduom wins the Presidential election.
“I have left everything to God so I won’t go to court but since I did not get the chance to file my nomination I would join Paa Kwesi Nduom” Madam Donkor said.
She added that “I have noticed that he [Dr. Nduom] is not corrupt and has stated that he would make education from primary to University free like I said so I would join him so that we can achieve this together.
“Paa Kwesi Nduom is not greedy and I have never heard any bad thing about him that is why I have decided to join him”.
