Some Prison officials have identified the body of an ex-convict murdered and left on the streets in Amisano near Elmina within the Central Region.
The deceased believed to be in his thirties, was later identified as Abaka. He hailed from Komenda within the Central region and was released from jail in January this year. The cause of death is not known.
Residents of Amisano who woke up on Tuesday morning said, they found in his pocket, a rope and some grains of maize. The body was mutilated with the left thumb absent. Blood was oozing out of his face.
“I was called around 7am so rise up from to the Amisano Town to the junction, then we saw that, that young man was dead. “I went straight to the police station, and made official complains about it ”Thomas Borfou an Assembly member of the Amisano Electoral area said.
Police are said to be investigating circumstances surrounding his death.
