Dizzee Rascal believes he deserves an honour because his track Bonkers reportedly prompted Prince Harry to break-dance at the Royal Wedding.
The Mercury award-winning hip-hop artist told Sky News: "I'm loving that royalty are getting down and break-dancing and I'm the cause of it.
"It's an achievement in itself - someone needs to give me an award or a plaque."
Dizzee was talking at the launch of a photography competition called Your Britain, run by Microsoft search engine Bing.
The star has been taking shots around the country – including visits to his old haunts in East London, where he grew up, and parts of Yorkshire and Kent.
"We're trying to get people to take images of Britain in the most beautiful way," he said.
"I've taken a few pictures of places which inspire me.
"I went to the Olympic stadium in Stratford (and) another place was the Stratford Rex where I played before I got famous."
Dizzee, who grew up in Bow, east London, shot to fame in 2003 when his first album Boy in da Corner won critical acclaim.
His fourth album, Tongue N' Cheek, was released in 2009 and included the hit Bonkers - winning him a Brit award for Best British Male last year.
The Bing homepage is set to become a rolling gallery of Dizzee's photography, featuring a different shot for the next five days.
And visitors to the site who submit their own photograph as part of the competition could win £10,000.
