The September, 2010 issue of the AFRICAWATCH, currently on sale has many interesting articles on Ghana, the main one being a nine-page interview with 67-year-old Osahene Boakye Djan. Highlights of the interview include:
- The current democratic arrangement now cannot allow Jerry John Rawlings to use arms, otherwise he would have removed President Atta Mills by now.
- My intelligence is that they are preparing to replace President Atta Mills with Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings at the next NDC congress, in a congress coup. There are going to be spoiling tactics in the NDC, in the run-up to 2012 election, which will allow Akufo-Addo a free run to victory. Kufuor would rather that Akufo-Addo doesn't win, and therefore an Asante-backed candidate of his choice, could contest later when Akufo-Addo would have spent his opportunity by age. If Alan had won the NPP presidential primaries, Akufo-Addo and his UNC men would have left the party.
- Nobody will admit that there is an Asante and Ewe control of Ghana.
