Apostle Dr. Michael K. Ntumy, Chairman of the Church of Pentecost (COP) on Saturday asked Ghanaians to avoid statements suggesting that the country would be in war, should there be any misunderstanding during the December general elections.
He said Ghanaians must rather pray for peace to prevail, since the consequences of war were very terrible experiences for any person to consider.
Apostle Ntumy gave the advice in Accra at a Mega Youth Service organized by the Church for over 5,000 youth in the Accra and Tema Metropolis.
Speaking on the theme: “Arise Young Officer”, The COP Chairman urged the youth to arise and take up the challenge of transforming lives through evangelism, prayers, Bible study and living in righteousness.
He said the survival of the nation depended on the Christian youth and as such, they must avail themselves to halting the onslaught of the evil one which was manifesting in various social vices such as homosexuality, prostitution and drug addiction.
Apostle Ntumy said the time had come for the youth to prove themselves worthy of a good cause, since it was only through that conviction that the older generation would have confidence that their contribution in all aspects were paramount.
“As young people ordained as officers for the Kingdom of God, you can make a difference. Never surrender to Satan’s schemes and don’t sell your talents for worldly things either”, he added.
The COP Chairman implored the youth to remain nationalistic and avoid engaging in corruption, saying; “If you become corrupt as a youth, it would be worst when you are old."
