Solomon Amoah, a driver, has been remanded in prison custody by the Asamankese Circuit Court for possessing heroine and Indian hemp without lawful custody.
Amoah, who pleaded not guilty, would reappear on February 16.
Police Chief Inspector Kate Ogyiri, prosecuting, told the court that on August 14, last year, the accused was seen struggling with a witness in the case in public.
Onlookers went in, separated the two of them. Investigations later revealed that Amoah had narcotic drugs on him and was peddling it.
The prosecutor said with the assistance of the witness, Amoah was searched and four wrappers of whitish powder suspected to be heroine and a wrapper of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were found in his pocket.
The people and the witness later put Amoah into a car and took him to the Asamankese police station together with the exhibits.
The suspected narcotic drugs were sent to the forensic crime laboratory for analytical examination, which later certified to be heroin and Indian hemp, weighing 0.18gms and 0.413gms respectively.
