The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority says it is committed to getting rid of middlemen and undesirable persons hovering around its premises across the country.Such persons, popularly known as Goro Boys engage in activities such as issuing fake drivers licenses and certificates, and sometimes pose as officials of the DVLA to extort money from the public.Chief Executive of the DVLA, Joe Osei-Wusu, has told Joy News the introduction of the computerization of its operations to fast track will improve the turnaround time a great deal and thereby eliminate the middle men who capitalise on the delays to cheat the unsuspecting public. He was confident that the automation will further curb the rate at which unregistered vehicles manoeuvre their way in and out of the country.
