The Electoral Commission has given the clearest hint that the newly founded Progressive Peoples Party would not be flouting any law if it goes ahead to organize a congress to elect party officers and a flagbearer.EC Chairman, Dr Kojo Afari Djan told Joy News what can stop the PPP from any activity would be an objection raised against its name and or symbol by another person or entity.Dr Afari Djan’s statement clarifies the seeming confusion as to whether a party with only a provisional certificate could elect a flagbearer and organize parliamentary primaries. The PPP has fixed February 25 for both events with nominations closing on the 16th of this month. And Dr Afari Djan believes with the provisional certificate, the party can go ahead with the congress.
