Over 5,000 names of people involved in double registration have been deleted from the final voters register. But none of them is facing prosecution now because they are yet to be identified.According to the Electoral Commission, there were over 20,000 cases of multiple entries involving about 11,000 individuals, but the various arbitration committees concluded that most of them were not done deliberately.Public Affairs Director of the Electoral Commission, Christian Owusu Parry told Joy News the EC was currently pre-occupied with preparations towards the elections but stressed it would ensure that those found culpable are prosecuted. He said the Commission had held various stakeholder discussions with political parties on the biometric register and does not expect complaints from the parties which have been given copies of the voters' register.Mr Owusu Parry also denied media reports that about 1,000 eligible voters in the Jumbo and Agou communities in the Nkwanta North District of the Volta Region have been disenfranchised because of an unresolved boundary dispute.
