Nana Amoasa Buabin Otsiaba IV, chief of Gomoa Antseadze in the Central Region, has appealed to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to provide meters to enable the individual households within the community to enjoy electricity, which has been extended to the town over a year ago.
According to Nana Otsiaba it was only streetlights, which had been connected even though the houses had been wired.
He made the appeal at the outdooring ceremony of Justice Alex Kobina Baah Ampiah, a retired Supreme Court Judge as Tufuhene of the town.
His stool name is Nana Amua-Yedu Ampiah II, Obirempon Appoh III.
Omankrado and Nana Apata Kofi III Obatan were also outdoored at the function.
Nana Otsiaba said the community needed the facility to promote economic and social activities and added that it was unfortunate that the unavailability of meters was holding the people back.
He was grateful to the Canadian government for helping the town to enjoy potable water.
Nana Otsiaba commended the new chiefs on their elevation to their present positions and urged them to have time for the people.
Nana Ampiah pledged to work hard to raise the status of the town, which was one of the first settlements of the people of Gomoa.
Both Nana Appoh and Apata Kofi centred their speeches on the relevance of education and advised the people to invest in the education of their children.Source: GNA
