Ecobank says it is ready to partner any bank that wants to go into a merger.
The pan African bank has been acquiring banks in other African countries as it seeks to widen its operations on the continent.
Here in Ghana there are expectations that some banks would have to merge with others in order to meet the proposed new minimum capital of about 50 million dollars.
Currently the bank of Ghana is holding consultations with stakeholders on the proposed increase.
Even though, Ecobank Ghana is able to meet the new requirement, it says it is open to any discussion from any other bank which is looking for an opportunity to merge.
