Premier League Board Boss, Abra Appiah, has indicated that the upcoming Eid al-Adha celebrations will not affect the Premier League Schedule.
In an interview on Asempa Fm’s Sports Morning Show on Tuesday, the PLB boss said the Week 5 of the ongoing Glo Premier League will go on as earlier announced.
Although his outfit was not yet certain on the day the festival may fall, the PLB boss said even if it fell on Sunday, 6th November, 2011 the league schedule will not change.
According to him, the PLB has resolved not postpone league matches this season until the situation got extremely out of their control.
In a related issue, the PLB official revealed that the Referees Review Panel had the capacity to deal with refereeing issues arising from the league.
He allayed the fears of people who thought the panel did not thoroughly go through the matches offending referees had officiated before coming out with their sanctions.
The panel did not only rely on reports from the matches but also watched match videos of all the matches, analyzed them and came out with the sanctions accordingly, he emphasised.
