The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejura Sekyedumase, Hon. Rafiu Adam Seidu, is seeking the intervention of President John Mahama to ensure the completion of the stalled astro turf project at the Ejura Public Park.
The project, which was initiated under the previous NPP administration, has been left incomplete, leaving the park in a deplorable state.
According to the MCE, the once vibrant playing field has now been rendered grassless and unusable, hampering the development of sports talent in the municipality.
He revealed they have engaged the contractor who confirmed Ghana Gas as the financier.
He believes President Mahama can help expedite work on the facility.

“Yes, they gave it to a contractor. Myself and my Member of Parliament went to Ghana Has who is the source of fund but when are they coming?" he quizzed.
Mr. Rafiu Adam Seidu made the appeal during an inter-community soccer tournament held to select Under-17 players to represent Ejura in the upcoming Inter-District Soccer Competition organized by the Ashanti Regional Minister.
“There are of potentials in Ejura. Currently as we speak, we have four people from Ejura who are now playing national and international teams; they started from this pitch [Public Park].
“Our brothers in NPP started the astro turf last year, they couldn’t finish.
“Now that President John Dramani has taken over, we are appealing to the government to come to our aid to help completer this astro turf so that we can develop the potential of our youth through sports," he stated.
When completed, the Ejura Astro Turf is expected to serve as a major sports hub for the municipality and its surrounding communities.
