It has been reported that Bole District Electoral Commission (EC) Officer, Alhassan Yussif Ayuba, and his driver Basiru Kojo have been killed in a road accident at Kusawgu.
According to Nkilgi FM, a radio station in Bole, they were traveling from Tamale after heading there to pick up electoral materials for the upcoming district level elections.
Based on an eyewitness account, there was some confusion on the road and Mr Alhassan’s driver miscalculated distance between their car and a parked vehicle, which resulted in the fatal car crash.
Mr Alhassan’s family has since left for Tamale upon hearing the alleged tragic news.
Mr Alhassan who until his recent reassignment as caretaker officer of the EC in the Bole District, was Deputy Public Relations Officer at the EC Head Office in Accra.
