Some electorates are unwilling to vote in next week’s District Assembly and Unit Committee Elections.
They say assembly members normally fail to honour their promises.
But contestants are going ahead with their campaigning as they take advantage of the platforms being mounted by the electoral commission in some areas.
As they prepare for the December 28 polls, one of the biggest challenges facing them is how to convince voters they will live up to their campaign promises.
A number of prospective voters who spoke to Joy News said they are undecided whether or not they will vote on the 28 December.
Others claim the candidates are not popular, and the least said about their vague promises the better.
The National Commission for Civic Education says awareness is still being created even though it has very limited funds available for that.
The Deputy Chairman in charge of Finance and Administration, Tina Akumanyi said a lot has been done by way of education.
“We have done as much as we can in educating the people about the new changes that has come in the District Assemblies."
She said platforms have been mounted for the candidates to market themselves.
According to her, monies budgeted for and sent to the Finance Ministry have not been approved for which reason the commission had to rely on their own service funds to undertake the projects.
Meanwhile the Electoral Commission would use over 20,000 polling stations.
