Ghana's best performing representative in the 2013 Big Brother Africa reality show, Elikem Kumordzi arrived in Zimbabwe Friday to a mammoth reception. The Ghanaian touched down at the Harare International Airport midday to thousands of fans, including his love Pokello, who had queued at the airport for hours just to catch a glimpse of the tailor. Elikem is in Zimbabwe to meet his new found love Pokello Nare, who represented Zimbabwe in the Big Brother Africa (The Chase) reality show this year. The two formed a strong love bond during their stint together in the reality show. Pokello proved her love for Elikem by dumping her long-time boyfriend, Zimbabwean rapper Desmond “Stunner” Chideme just after her eviction from the show. Although Elikem did not win the US$300,000 prize at stake, he walked home as the winner of the Most Romantic Gesture for making breakfast in bed for Pokello. He won an amazing holiday package of a five-night all-expenses-paid trip for two, to the Sarova White Sands Hotel in Mombasa, Kenya, two return tickets from RwandAir and spending money all valued at US$10,000. Elikem announced that his partner for the trip is Pokello. Elikem, wearing an all-green attire, was clearly overwhelmed by the massive turnout of enthusiastic fans at the airport. Myjoyonline.com sources in Zimbabwe said the elated fans stormed the airport with tape measures around their necks in acknowledgment of Elikem’s profession. Several fans also wore caps branded Polikem the nickname given to the couple - Pokello and Elikem. There were also banners that said "Welcome Elikem" and "Mukwasha" which meant Son–in–law. Our source, explained that as soon as the Ghanaian tailor touched down in Zimbabwe, a group of designers handed him one of their overall green outfits which had Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe’s signature on it. Elikem, according reports did not hesitate to changed into them. The Ghanaian, with Pokello by his side, spent some time exchanging pleasantries with some of the fans. He was later driven in fresh black Mercedes Benz across the streets of Harare where he could been seen waving to fans from the roof of the car. There are reports that the Ghanaian tailor, during his week's stay there, will be meeting Pokello's family and in-laws to formally introduce himself to them. The bubbly Zimbabwean is expected to also reciprocate Elikem's visit when she returns with him to Ghana in a week's time. Pokello has already met Elikem's mother and brother in South Africa last month at the reality show's finale. There are reports that Elikem during his time in Zimbabwe will attend two parties - at Bleu Cocktail Lounge in Harare Friday evening and at Horizon Lounge in Bulawayo Saturday evening respectively. The couple are expected to make some donations to the Thembiso Children’s Home in Luveve Saturday afternoon and also spend time with the children there. Other activities lined up for his visit include an interaction with Zimbabwean fans who voted for him during his stay in the Big Brother Africa reality show Saturday afternoon at the Kebab Centre in Harare. He will also be taken on a tour of Harare on Monday.
