Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy made it to the charts with their 2019 hits, Melissa, Lucky and Shuga respectively.

In week 33 of the Adom Music Chart, Stonebowy is back at number one with his 2019 hit ‘Shuga’.

The song released in April 2019, features Jamaican artiste Beenie man.

A month after the video for Shatta Wale’s Melissa was posted on YouTube, the song has garnered nearly a million views. Away from YouTube, ‘Melissa’ has become favourites for many Ghanaians.

Shatta Wale in this song gives fans a different and softer side to him, that possibly could be a reason why people love it so much. This week it is at number two.

After announcing the title of his new album, ‘Black Love’ Sarkodie has been feeding fans with back to back hits. At number three on this week’s chart is ‘Lucky’ of the ‘Black Love’ album.

According to Sarkodie, seeing two melanin skinned people love and work together to get through all adversities, is an achievement he admires and wants to celebrate with ‘Lucky’ and ‘Black Love’ album.

‘Lucky’ which features Nigeria’s Rude Boy has over 1.3 million views on YouTube a month after its release.

A video released on YouTube indicates that Black Love features a list of A list artiste including KiDi, Mr Eazi, Efya and many others.

Kwaw Kese’s Dondo remix is at number four. Although the original was making waves, Dondo’s remix featuring Sarkodie, Mr Eazi, Medikal and Skonti has overshadowed it.

Starting underground and learning the ins and outs of music including the productions, for years, seem to have paid off for music duo DopeNation.

The duo, who recently signed unto Lynx Entertainment, has their signature song ‘Zanku’ dominating the music scene since its release in April. ‘Zanku’ led the chart in week 27 and has managed to stay in the top five since then. This week it is at number five.

The number six song this week is ‘Zakari’ by Cabum. The song featuring Sarkodie and Stonebwoy after its release was banned from airplay on a TV station.

The producers of the show claimed some lyrics in the song by Cabum is an offence to women. This controversy has however not stopped fans from listening to it.

At number seven is ‘Nobody’ by Kwesi Arthur featuring Mr Eazi.

The song is the fourth song on Kwesi Arthur’s album ‘Live From Nkrumah Krom Vol 2’ (LFNKII) released in April 2019. With fans enjoying the versatility the artiste offered on the album, the song did not immediately seize the attention of listeners.

However, it quickly perked up after the video, which featured actress and TV show host Efia Odo, went viral. The song has evolved to surpass African girl featuring Shatta Wale as the most popular song on the album.

Fameye’s ‘Nothing I Get’ is at number eight. The song has pushed Fameye from being a struggling underground artiste to gaining recognition in mainstream music. This is mainly because people have expressed how relatable the song is to them.

Kuami Eugene and KiDi’s first collaboration ‘Ohemaa’ is at number nine. The video for the song focuses on celebrating the Ghanaian culture and women.

The number 10 song is ‘Stevie Wonder’ by Wendy Shay featuring Shatta Wale.

‘Amanfuor Girls’ created by Quamina MP and featuring Medikal is at number 11.

At number 12 is Diana Hamilton’s ‘Nsenkyerene Nyankopon’.

Tuff Seed by Stonebwoy is at number 13. According to Stonebwoy, the song was written to inspire people who are going through tough times. The song talks about how it is important to stay strong regardless of how hard people are trying to push you back.

The number 14 spot goes to ‘Mea’ by Kelvyn Boy featuring Joey B. The song is one of the most popular songs on Kelvyn Boy’s T.I.M.E ep.

At number 15 is ‘Agbebolo’ meaning Bread Of Life by Celestine Donkor Ft Nhyiraba Gideon.

‘Adam & Eve’ by Kofi Kinaata is at number 16.

Strongman’s ‘Crazy For You’ featuring Kelvynboy is at number 17.

Becca’s debut rap song Driving License featuring Shatta Wale is at number 18.

At number 19 is Sugar Daddy by KiDi featuring Mr Eazi.

‘Bra’ by King Promise featuring Kojo Antwi is at number 20.
