Ghanaian hiplife musician KiDi says he is very honoured and excited to have won the ‘Album of the Year’ at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Speaking in an interview with JoyNews’ Becky, KiDi says winning that award “felt amazing” and it means that “people are listening, there are ears that are paying attention to the music”.
“I’m particularly happy about ‘Album of the Year’ because…it is one of the biggest awards of the year…so for the collection of songs to be appealing to the audience to get nominated and to win is just mind-boggling and I’m really honoured,” he said.
KiDi added that this win for him will serve as an inspiration for his work on his upcoming album set to be released in 2021.
“I’ve started working on my second album already which is 80% done so God willing 2021 we’ll have it out.”
KiDi won the album of the year at the 2020 edition of the VGMAs, beating Sarkodie, Okyeame Kwame, King Promise, Joe Mettle, Kwesi Arthur and Nacee to secure the top spot in the category.
He hopes to win in more categories in the future.
