Kweku Essien of Kumasi King Faisal, Kwadjo Asamoah of Liberty Professionals and Alhaji Moro Saanie of Ashantigold have been nominated by the Professional League Board (PLB) to vie for the 2006/7 Premier League Player of the Season.
The trio, whose names were made public on Wednesday at the launch of the 2nd Edition of the Premier League, were adjudged to be the most outstanding players in the season by a technical committee of the PLB.
The awards scheduled for June 9, will see the winner driving home a VW Golf Car as the ultimate prize.
The eventual winners in the other categories will be decided by public voting through SMS messages.
Other nominees for the Defender of the year are Isaac Vorsah - Kotoko, Jonathan Quartey - Ashgold, and Yahaya Mohamed - Tema Youth.
Ernest Sowah - Tema Youth, Isaac Ackon - All Blacks, Joe Addo - Hasaacas will compete for the Goalkeeper of the Year Award.
Ekow Benson - Tema Youth, Alhaji Moro Saanie - Ashgold and Emmanuel Clottey - Olympics will vie for the Discovery of the Year Award.
For the Coach of the Season Category, Ashgold's David Duncan, Hans Vander Plyum of Heart of Lions and Mitko Kostadinov Dobrev of Hearts will be vying for the award whilst the Chairman of the Season will be picked from Nii Odai Afotei, Chairman of Great Olympics, Kudjo Fianoo of Ashgold and Victor Ahiakpor of Heart of Lions.
Accra Great Olympics, Ashgold and Heart of Lions will battle for the Most Improved Club of the Season with Dan Offei, Cecil Fletcher and Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo competing for the Referee of the Year Award.
