After placing second in Group F, Germany go into the round of 16 with the aim of reaching the quarterfinals. England, who topped group D, will be their opponents at the Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.
England will be playing in front of a familiar crowd but face a tough task to beat a tricky and quality German side.
When the whistle is blown to start the game, the two teams will be expected to entertain millions of fans worldwide with scintillating football.
Germany to book quarter final spot
Germany have had a lot of critics thanks to their undulating form this campaign. Joachim Low’s side started the competition with a 1-0 defeat to France and went on to beat Portugal 4-2.
After that, they played out a pulsating 2-2 draw with Hungary. They do, however, possess huge quality in all areas of the pitch and could pose too many problems for England to handle.
The likes of Kai Havertz, Serge Gnabry and Toni Kroos among others are expected to come to the fore on Tuesday.
The odds
Germany are slight favorites to win this game, with their odds priced at 2.90. England, in comparison, are pinned at 2.48. A draw has been priced at 3.20.
