The families of the three children, who were found dead in an abandoned car at Alogboshie, Achimota in Accra in February, are disputing the autopsy report prepared by doctors at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
The post-mortem report on the three indicates that they died of heat stroke resulting from long exposure too much heat.
The report was signed by one Dr. L. Edusei. It ruled out initial suspicion that the kids might have been poisoned.
The children, identified as Gabriel Kofi Lartey and Edem Asimenu, both two-and-half, and Isaac Annor, alias Kobby, two years, were found dead in the Nissan Primera, (GR 3656 R), one of many abandoned vehicles in a house of an Accra businessman, Samuel Kwame Aguadze, on Saturday, February 21.
The spokesperson for the families, Samuel Annan, told Joy News the bodies should have been released to the families earlier for verification of the autopsy report.
“If the children died and there was blood everywhere and certain things were taken, they even said it was poison…and finally he is saying it is heat stroke, I can’t challenge him, it is his profession. This is not the first time, the second time it is happening they said it is heat stroke…I don’t know if heat stroke can generate poison.”
Even though he said the families are unhappy with the autopsy report, he said they would not pursue the matter any further.
