A family residing in East Legon in Accra is appealing to the Ghana Police Service to take steps to end the persistent harassment meted on them by a young man believed to be mentally ill.
According to the family, several reports to the East Legon Police command have yielded little or no result.
“We have been to the Legon police station about 5 to 6 times to report the issue to them and till now they haven't done anything about it.
“He was arrested once and what the Inspector could say is the boy is mentally ill, so he should be bailed out,” a family member wrote on Facebook.

Nana Ama, who accompanied her post with a video that has since gone viral said, the abuse from the young man has lingered for more than three months.
In the video, the man is seen trying to take off the shirt of a young lady as he assaults her on their compound.
After he had successfully overpowered the girl, he pushes her down, strangles her for some minutes before proceeding to take a peek into her panty.
The latest assault which occurred on Sunday has left the family terrified hence the appeal to the police to intervene.
"So my question is if he is ill, should he be kept in the area to torment us. Or is the police waiting for this boy to kill someone before they know how serious it is?" Nana Ama wrote.
But responding to the allegations on Joy FM’s Midday, the Legon District Commander, DSP Emmanuel Asante Ofori said, the incident is being investigated.
"It is very disheartening when things are posted on social media as though the police are not working. The police have been tasked to protect human lives and properties at all times even at night," he stated.
He, however, refused to comment on the video noting that the video could be outdated since there is nothing to show how recent the video was taken.
