Arsenal fans have started to call for Thomas Partey’s contract to be extended following his performance against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Ghanaian bossed the midfield for the Gunners in their emphatic 3-0 win over the defending champions at the Emirates.
Partey was reinstated into the starting lineup after being left out of the game against Everton last weekend.
The 31-year-old started the game alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard as the midfield trio.
Partey was heavily involved in the Londoners' play all evening and also contributed to breaking down Madrid’s attack on several occasions.
Despite picking up a yellow card in the 54th minute, Partey kept his cool and sealed out the game avoiding a second caution and helped Arsenal claim a first-leg advantage at home.
His performers went unnoticed as he was the talk on social media.
Some comments on social media went as far as calling for Arsenal to extend the contract of the midfielder who has just months left on his current deal.
