FBNBank has reiterated its commitment to the youth in Ghana this time by sponsoring the 2023 National Youth Conference that was held from 31st August to 3rd September at the University of Ghana’s Athletic Oval, Legon.
This year’s conference under the theme “Reformed Youth, Reformed Ghana” was a development programme aimed at training the youth for the socio-economic development of Ghana.
The conference is held every year by the National Youth Authority and the International Youth Fellowship with the aim of fostering the youth with strong hearts through leadership training that should be possessed as next-generation leaders.
Speaking on the Bank’s support for the 2023 National Youth Conference, the Managing Director of FBNBank, Victor Yaw Asante said “The Bank recognizes the role of the youth in nation building and supports this cause of the National Youth Authority and the International Youth Fellowship in the effort at equipping the youth with the needed skills that will help them develop their qualities. For us, the youth of Ghana have the capabilities to compete with their peers across the globe if they are given the right training to develop themselves.
“The youth, I believe must take advantage of the resources available regardless of the situation they find themselves in. FBNBank has a committed focus on the youth with products like the Xplore First Students Account that provides holders with exciting benefits. This is in addition to our Graduate Entry Programme and Talent Management Programme which are aimed at supporting employee engagement, employee motivation and have increased productivity across all levels of employees within the organisation. I am grateful for the opportunity given FBNBank Ghana to support the 2023 National Youth Conference and hope that it will help the National Youth Authority to continue its important work in the lives of the Ghanaian youth.”
Last year, FBNBank delivered on its promise of focusing on the youth by organising a Students Fair in collaboration with the University of Ghana Careers and Counselling Centre on the Legon campus to deliver career guidance, entrepreneurship, mentorship, financial inclusion and placement opportunities for the students and youth generally.
This year’s youth conference gave participants the opportunity to communicate with each other beyond language and culture through the four days of mind lecture and various programmes in the best environment to help develop their qualities as true leaders in the global era for others.
Delivering a speech at the opening ceremony of the conference was the CEO of the National Youth Authority, Pius Enam Hadzide who said “the National Youth Conference is to honor the Ghanaian Youth as the architect of Ghana’s destiny. As a young and privileged person to have been given the task of overseeing the youth sector of the country, I am delighted to associate with such focus on the significant contribution of the youth to national and global development as well as their general growth development and welfare. The theme for the 2023 National Youth Conference encapsulates the essence of our collective aspirations and our commitment to steer our nation towards a bright future. I cannot conclude without saying thank you to FBNBank and all who supported and contributed to make this event a successful one. I am grateful for the kind gesture and I want to express the desire that the relationship will continue to help the growth of our youth.”
