The Food and Drugs Board has placed an embargo on the sale and distribution of Beslen spaghetti. This was after it confiscated nearly five thousand cartons of the unwholesome product being sold to consumers. The spaghetti is said to have some fungal growth which poses serious health risk to consumers. The FDB says it has traced the sale of the spaghetti to EAKAAZA Ghana limited. The acting deputy chief Executive at the Food and Drugs Board John Odame-Darkwa said the company has a case to answer. Mr. Odame- Darkwa added they are carrying out further investigations to establish whether the company knew the state of products before distributing them. He said the FDB may act as prosecution witness if it turns out the officials of the company were aware of the unwholesome state of the products. Source: Joy News/Ghana
