Feenix Ghana, a leading transport technology company, today handed over 50 cars under its innovative 'Drive to Own' (D2O) service at a ceremony in Accra.
The initiative, which aims to provide affordable vehicle financing solutions to aspiring ride-hailing drivers, marks a significant step towards boosting employment opportunities for young Ghanaians.
The D2O service allows customers to acquire vehicles through a flexible financing model, enabling them to run ride-hailing services while paying off their vehicles through weekly or monthly deposits.
The standout feature of this initiative is the D2O app, which manages the entire process, from inquiries to payments, vehicle inspections, and insurance premium payments.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Prince Adjapong, CEO of Feenix Ghana, emphasised the company’s commitment to providing massive employment opportunities for young people within the gig economy and ride-hailing sector.
"We are committed to providing 1,500 vehicles by the end of December 2025," said Mr. Adjapong.
"Our goal is to create decent employment opportunities for young people across the country, empowering them to become entrepreneurs in the transport sector."
Mr. Siegfried Sorkpor, Chief Product Officer of Feenix Ghana, elaborated on the streamlined process enabled by the D2O app.
"Everything is done via the D2O app," he explained.
"From the initial inquiry to vehicle inspection, and even insurance payments, it’s a seamless experience. Download the D2O app from the Play Store or App Store, enter your details, and our fleet team will schedule a test drive with you. Once you are successful, pay your first deposit and drive away your car."
Mr Siegfried also noted that, “The D2O app is very easy to use. There are even features that helps the driver himself to monitor track his performance as a driver. We have even fitted the vehicles with technologies that will disable the vehicles in the event of theft so you the driver can have the peace of mind.”
Mr. Sorkpor encouraged young people to take advantage of this opportunity.
"We want to make it easy for anyone to become a ride-hailing driver. Just download the app and get started."
The 'Drive to Own' initiative is part of Feenix Ghana's broader strategy to revolutionize the transport industry in Ghana.
In addition to its ride-hailing service, the company offers smart insurance products, fleet management services, and vehicle financing options.
With the support of substantial investment, Feenix Ghana is poised to make a significant impact in the market by providing accessible and innovative transport solutions.
As the company rolls out this new phase of its operations, it hopes to not only foster entrepreneurship but also contribute to the development of Ghana's digital economy through its technology-driven solutions.
The D2O service is expected to attract many young people eager to enter the ride-hailing industry, boosting both economic activity and employment rates.
Feenix Ghana's ambitious goals signal a transformative period for the transport sector, setting a new standard for vehicle financing and management in the country.
The company’s commitment to leveraging technology for growth and employment creation highlights its role as a key player in Ghana's evolving transport landscape.
