Bulldog, former manager of dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, was tipped to walk free following revelations that the state was no longer interested in trying him for the murder of Fennec Okyere.
Unfortunately, even though the state made it known during a hearing on Thursday, October 12 that it was no longer interested in pursuing the case, Bulldog will have to wait a bit longer before gaining his freedom.
This is because, Chief Inspector Apiorsornu, the prosecutor in the case failed to appear in court on Thursday forcing presiding Judge Worlanyo Kotoku to adjourn the case to November 15.
Bulldog was picked up by police on May 15, 2014, at Kokomlemle, a suburb of Accra, as the prime suspect in the murder of Fennec Okyere at his residence on March 13, 2014.
During the previous hearing, Senior State Attorney Richard Gyambiby advised that Bulldog be discharged.
However, Chief Inspector Apiorsonu indicated that the advice from the Attorney General's department contained what he termed as “codified information” that needed to be discussed by the Police.
The discussion could not be had because the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department had travelled on an official assignment.
JoyNews’ Maxwell Amoofia, who was in court Thursday, reported that Bulldog was present in anticipation that he was going walk free.
According to him, the CEO of Bullhaus Entertainment was beaming with smiles hoping that he would be discharged but was a bit disappointed at the turn of events.
Jerry Avernogbor, counsel for Bulldog, had prayed the judge to use his powers to discharge his client.
But the judge declined and instead adjourned the case to November 15.
