Three suspects have been remanded into police custody by the Kuntenase Magistrate Court over the murder of driver and headteacher, Israel Agyei Manu, at Feyiase in the Ashanti Region.
The police arrested two more suspects named by the prime suspect, Rashid Ibrahim, to assist in investigations.
The suspects are Richard Addai, a fetish priest's assistant with Black Akasa Shrine and Anthony Sekum, a labourer.
According to police, Rashid claims to have visited the shrine for money rituals after an advertisement on Amansan TV in November 2020.
He was then directed to bring a human head for the ritual and his plans were put on hold until he proceeded with the intention on July 4, the police said.
According to the police, Rashid Ibrahim gave a detailed account of how he first picked his alleged victim at Kumasi High School Junction, a popular spot at Atonsu.
They said the suspect disclosed that how led the victim to a spot where he cut him several times with a machete.
Mr Ibrahim has been charged with murder while Richard Addai and Anthony Sekum have been charged with abetment.
Meanwhile, the police have mounted a search for two more suspects including the fetish priest in charge of the shrine.
It took a search party of Police and residents to locate the head of the deceased in a nearby bush.
