Fidelity Bank Ghana, together with the newest member of its family, ProCredit last week feted the children of New Life Orphanage in Nungua and the Home for Women and Children (HOMWAC) in the Mallam Atta market.
The delegation of about 30 staff, led by the Director, Financial Inclusion and Corporate Social Responsibility, Dr. William Derban, spent a joyous four hours with the children eating delicious food and delectable desserts, dancing to a good DJ, chatting and playing games.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of assorted food items, drinks, toys and learning aids, clothes and a host of other goodies to the children.
Commenting on this gesture, Dr. Derban emphasized that the donations were coming from the generosity of Fidelity and ProCredit staff.
“Fidelity’s revamped corporate social responsibility (CSR), with an overarching theme of Building Lives through Finance. Our colleague engagement programme, Charity@Work, seeks to galvanize Fidelity Bank staff nationwide on a cause", said Dr Derban.
A core part of Fidelity’s culture is supporting others who are in need, thus during Christmas, Fidelity and ProCredit staff across Ghana rallied together and donated generously to support orphans in these institutions.
Dr. Derban hinted that this gesture was just a fraction of what Fidelity had in store for the country this year.
Thanking the Fidelity team, Rev Cephas Afotey, the Founder and President of New Life Orphanage, Nungua, heaped the blessings of God upon the institution saying,
“The most important thing is that my children are happy and may Fidelity continue to grow from grace to grace.” He added that the institution was dependent on the support of private and individual donors and encouraged others to emulate Fidelity", he said.
Madam Alberta Adaglo the proprietor of HOMWAC said she was happy to receive the items on behalf of the children of the Kayaye who work in the market and use the center.
