The Finance Ministry is contemplating registration of all unemployed persons in the country.
The proposed initiative is meant to provide data, especially, on job-seeking people with employable skills for proper placement in various sectors of the economy.
Special Advisor at the Finance Ministry, Prof. Newman Kusi, says this is part of efforts to tackle the country’s ever rising youth unemployment problem.
He said the Ministry has prioritized job creation, especially for the youth, and various intervention options are being explored for lasting solutions.
According to Prof. Kusi, the Ministry may also hold a forum for unemployed persons to source their views on how best to help them get jobs.
He spoke to Luv News after receiving an award for Sector Minister, Dr. Kwabena Dufuor, from youth group, Movement for Development of Ghana.
Prof. Kusi commended the group for recognizing the efforts and achievements of public office holders like Dr. Dufuor for his management of the national economy.
He said the recognition will urge the Minister to continue giving off his best for the development of the nation.
