Fire has burnt down eight shops including a popular pub, Success Pub at Assin Fosu.
The outbreak destroyed properties worth several thousands of Cedis at Assin Fosu Old Education Road.
The intensity of the fire required personnel from the Assin Fosu Fire Station to spend close to two hours before bringing the situation under control.

The affected shops included a printing press, a restaurant, a pub, and a dressmaking shop.

Among the items destroyed by the fire were printing equipment, a sound system, sewing machines, clothes, fridges, drinks, and goods, all running into several thousands of Ghana cedis.

Although the cause of the fire outbreak is currently unknown, a gas cylinder and a fire extinguisher were found among the burnt items.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to Adom News described how the fire started but did not provide specific details.

Assin Fosu Municipal Fire Officer, ADO III Paul Tawia, highlighted the challenges faced due to the lack of a fire hydrant in the affected area, which made it difficult for fire personnel to extinguish the blaze efficiently.

He urged the Ghana Water Company and the Assin Fosu Municipal Assembly to install fire hydrants at strategic locations in Assin Fosu as a proactive measure to handle similar emergencies in the future.
