The head office of the Volta River Authority is said to be on fire.
The fire started on the 11th floor of building near the Ministries area in Accra.
Manager in charge of Public Relations of the VRA, Mrs. Gertrude Koomson confirmed the fire out break to Asempa fm a while ago.
Asempa fm's News Editor who witnessed the incident reports seeing thick smoke billowing from the 11th floor.
Fire fighters have quenched the fire when they were called in to save the situation.
The fire affected the main server room at the eleven floor headquarters structure.
No one was hurt.
One fire fighter had to be resuscitated after he fell unconscious. It took about four fire tenders and a tanker to contain and quench the fire.
Maxwell Odoom who is Deputy Chief Executive Officer for services at the VRA said attempts to extinguish the fire were thwarted by the sheer intensity of the blaze.
He said the fire service had to be called in to save the situation.
