Many shops at Popular business area of the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra, Tiptoe Lane, was razed by fire Thursday.
The fire which started around midnight consumed several stalls and shops which had been closed for the day.
Some stalls and shops were occupied by “Kayaye” (porters) when the fire struck.
It took personnel from the Ghana Fire Service several minutes to douse the flames which swept through the packed business area.
The cause of the fire is not immediately known, neither was it known whether any casualties or injuries resulted from the blaze.
