First National Bank Ghana has organized a day’s workshop for its business and corporate clients to educate and share with them best practices on trade and foreign exchange. The workshop brought together about 50 companies drawn from different sectors of the economy. With the help of experts and regulators, participants were brought up to speed with recent trends in international trade, trade finance and the foreign exchange market. The underlying changes to the environment of trade from both local and international sources have on the one hand broadened the horizon for local businesses. They have, on the other hand, created a gap of knowledge, requiring constant information so that businesses do not miss out on the ever-exciting and competitive regional and global trade opportunities.Representatives from the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority shared policies and protocols with customers, at a time when Ghana is preparing to take advantage of the elimination of most tariff barriers to trade on the continent, through the new African Continental Free Trade Area.Being a bank that takes pride in being one of the most experienced and innovative on the continent in terms of trade finance and foreign exchange trading, the workshop was yet another avenue for First National Bank Ghana to share its rich products and tools that are fit for the participants’ business aspirations. Clients had all their questions addressed in the most interactive manner and right there began to identify new opportunities in their specific industries.
