A circuit court at Cape Coast remanded Egya Amissah, a 20-year-old fisherman from Elmina for defiling a five-year old girl.
The accused, who pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement, will re-appear before the court for sentencing on Friday, September 21.
Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo told the court presided over by Mr. Asiedu Badu that the accused lived opposite the house of the parents of the victim at Elmina.
Prosecution said accused lured the girl, who had gone out to look for her mother into the bush, gave her GH¢1.50p and defiled her.
Chief Inspector Azasoo told the court that the girl sustained serious injury to her genital organ and bled profusely.
He said the parents of the girl rushed her to the Central Regional Hospital at Cape Coast and is still on admission.
