Some fishermen at Moree and parts of the Central Region have issued a stern warning to the New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo to stop fanning confusion among them to win political points.
They accuse him of sponsoring a group known as Fishermen Friends of Nana Akufo-Addo to oppose good policies being introduced by the government to improve their lot.
Joy News’ correspondent Richard Kojo Nyarko reports that the front of the fishermen group has been sharply divided on political lines in recent times.
At a news conference at Moree, the fisherfolks are reported to have said that the ban on fishing with light is a good policy intended to help make life better for them and that their members should stay away from politicking with such issues.
The group however says the fisherfolks are at liberty to support any political party of their choice but it should not be to the detriment of the group.
