Creative entrepreneur Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, has been appointed High Commissioner Designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The announcement was made on Sunday, March 1, 2026, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, on his Facebook page.
Sharing an artwork featuring Sadiq’s photo, Ablakwa wrote: “Congratulations, Baba Sadiq, on your well-deserved appointment by President Mahama as High Commissioner designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I have no doubt you will hold aloft Ghana’s flag and make the youth of our continent proud.”

Below are some facts about Baba Sadiq you probably didn’t know:
(1) Baba Sadiq contested the parliamentary seat for Okaikoi Central Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress in the 2024 elections but lost to the incumbent, Patrick Yaw Boamah.
(2) He is a trained media and communications specialist, entrepreneur, and politician who has built a career spanning 20 years in Africa’s media and communications sustainability industries. He has worked in various capacities as a media and communications executive and entrepreneur.
(3) Sadiq is the founder and former Chief Executive Officer of 3 Media Networks Limited, operators of the music media brand 3Music TV and the 3Music Awards. He is also founder and executive director of the WILDALAND Foundation, an ESG-focused organisation known for the WILDALAND festival.
Before this, Sadiq was the founding director of Africa’s leading digital streaming service, Boomplay, in Ghana. He led the establishment of its Ghanaian office, built the local team, and helped the platform reach nearly 11 million users while acquiring content from all relevant Ghanaian and African creators.
(4) Sadiq also served as head of Programmes and Own Productions/executive producer at Modern Times Group (MTG) Africa’s Viasat1 Ghana, where his team won 18 awards in just a year and a half. He managed operations for the pan-African TV channel Trace TV in Ghana and spearheaded the launch of the Airtel Trace Music Star reality show.
He co-founded Muse Africa, a millennial-focused lifestyle and entertainment brand, and served as its founding CEO from 2015 to 2018. At Muse Africa, he led the #MuseParticipate active citizenship campaign in partnership with global advocacy group Oxfam International.
(5) Sadiq has also collaborated with Viacom International Networks Africa, MTV Base, and Rockstar400 on projects including the One8 initiative featuring R. Kelly and eight African artists, leading launches in Burkina Faso, Chad, and Niger. He worked as associate producer for Vodafone’s 020Live project from its inception and, in 2019, was associate producer of Afronation Ghana through the Rave Group.
He holds a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from the African University College of Communications and has currently deferred his postgraduate LLB studies.
In 2023, Sadiq founded FulLCircL, a Pan-African 360 entertainment agency specialising in live experiences, digital content production, publishing, PR, and talent management.
