Some residents in flood prone areas in Accra have blamed the government and the media for their predicament.
They accused the government of being insensitive to their plight.
This followed flooding in parts of the city on Wednesday morning following downpours.
The worst affected people are those living along the odawna drain near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.
Residents were compelled to seek refuge on rooftops and every conceivable place where they could be saved.
Most of the people stayed away from work and school to help salvage their property.
Some items destroyed included furniture, television sets, fridges, and other home electronic gadgets as well as suitcases of clothing.
Residents of the Christian Methodist Secondary School area in Asylum down in the Osu Clottey constituency who also suffered considerable damage from the floods chided their Member of Parliament for not showing concern.
Meanwhile the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has deployed a taskforce to assist the victims of the downpour.
The situation made human and vehicular movement very difficult.
The Acting Coordinator of the NADMO, ACP Douglas Asiedu Akrofi told Joy FM that measures were put in place to assess the situation in other regions.
According to him, a contingent of military, navy, Town and Country Planning, and the Fire Service had been constituted to provide relief where necessary.
That he said will be replicated in the other regions.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Sheikh I. C. Quaye has been touring some of the affected parts.
