The Progressive Peoples Party has promised to go all out in the Upper West region to snatch seats from the ruling National Democratic Congress in the December elections. Addressing a press conference in the Wa Constituency, National Secretary of the party, Kofi Asamoah urged the electorate to reject Vice President’s John Mahama’s appeal to Ghanaians to give President Mills a second term. He stated “Second term is not earned on a silver platter, second term is neither automatic. Second term is performance driven and the PPP is saying that the NDC does not deserve a second term in office”. The PPP secretary said the NDC/NPP governments have been at each other’s throat as to whose regime was most corrupt. He added that the two major parties have failed to tackle the issue of corruption and when given the chance, the PPP would offer Ghanaians a corruption-free government that would not hesitate to prosecute corrupt officials. Mr. Asamoah described the Parliamentary candidate for Wa, James Suhumininy as a patriotic citizen who would never abandon his constituents when voted to power.
