The founding father and first President of Namibia, Dr Sam Nujoma is expected in the country today, December 1, 2010 for a four-day official visit.
The visit which is in connection with the first anniversary of the operations of Air Namibia in Ghana, will afford him the opportunity to pay a courtesy call on President John Evans Atta Mills at the presidency to discuss matters of international and bilateral interest.
President Nujoma will also be hosted to a state dinner at the Banquet Hall of the State House at which President Mills is expected to be present to celebrate the first anniversary of Air Namibia.
The Namibian political icon would also visit Princess Marie Louis Children Hospital and make a personal donation to support the hospital's efforts in catering for the children. He will have a meeting with an old time personal friend, Ambassador Debrah, an astute diplomat.
He is also scheduled to visit the premier university in the country, University of Ghana, Legon and make a speech at Legon Centre for International Affairs.
On December 4, President Nujoma would be expected to pay a courtesy call on comrades, former President Rawlings as well as former President Kufour before departing on board the Air Namibia flight back home.
The former Namibian President would open a mini trade fair to showcase some Namibian products at the Novotel Hotel, Accra.
Dr Sam Nujoma led the Namibian people through the struggle for independence 20 years ago and became the first President of that country and served for two terms until he handed over power peacefully.
